Dutch Media Names Two Individuals Who Could Follow Arne Slot to Liverpool

According to reports in the Dutch press, Arne Slot is rumoured to be bringing two individuals with him to Liverpool this upcoming summer, as he is strongly linked with the managerial position at Anfield.

It’s widely speculated that Arne Slot will indeed become Liverpool’s next manager, with several sources confirming the Reds’ purported €9m offer on Wednesday, which Feyenoord reportedly turned down.

However, they are expected to increase their offer to get closer to the €15m that the Dutch champions are seeking in the near future.

It’s been hinted that Slot is highly enthusiastic about the transition. The main hurdle lies in reaching an agreement with Feyenoord, though it’s widely speculated which members Slot desires to join him.

According to Dutch outlet De Telegraaf, two men have been identified.

The first is Sipke Hulshoff, presently serving as an assistant at Feyenoord. Hulshoff boasts a diverse coaching background, having worked in Ghana, Qatar, and the Netherlands before joining SC Cambuur as an assistant in 2015.

Significantly, he teamed up with another assistant, Arne Slot. Together, they served as interim managers twice before Hulshoff moved on to become an assistant at Volendam, while Slot assumed a similar position at AZ Alkmaar.

By 2021, both found themselves at Feyenoord: Slot as the manager and Hulshoff as the Under 21 boss. Currently, he assists Slot and Netherlands’ manager, Ronald Koeman.

Another notable figure is Ruben Peeters. Having ascended from a fitness coach at KRC Genk in Belgium, he transitioned to become the Head of Performance at Feyenoord the same season Slot arrived.

It’s anticipated that he will undertake a comparable role at Liverpool in the near future.

Liverpool Set for Overhaul

The number of potential departures alongside Slot remains uncertain. De Telegraaf hints that Feyenoord may resist further exits, aiming to retain key personnel.

Liverpool appear poised for additional changes beyond Jurgen Klopp’s departure, as several first-team coaching staff members are also leaving. Recruiting individuals familiar with Slot seems logical to fill these vacancies.
