Liverpool Legend Identities Premeir League Star as “Ideal” Mohamed Salah Replacement

Liverpool legend John Barnes has identified the perfect replacement to Mohamed Salah at Anfield, and the player he has in mind has proven himself in the Premier League.

Salah has consistently showcased his attacking prowess since his arrival at Liverpool in 2017, consistently delivering goals season after season.

With 204 goals scored in 332 matches under Jurgen Klopp’s management, the 31-year-old holds a revered status as a legend at Anfield, boasting a remarkable scoring record that may prove daunting for any future player to match.

Yet, with Salah’s contract set to expire in the summer of 2025, rumours circulate that Liverpool might opt to sell their star player this year, particularly with significant interest from wealthy Middle Eastern clubs.

Consequently, Barnes has identified Wolves’ standout performer Pedro Neto as a potential successor to fill Salah’s position on Liverpool’s wing.

He told MyBettingSites: “I’ve always liked Pedro Neto – always liked him. If you’re looking for a profile of a winger that would suit Liverpool down to the ground, that winger is Pedro Neto.

“He would suit Liverpool more than any other club. He’s direct; he’s quick. He’s a bit like Mo Salah, where he’s direct and always plays well.

“He’s had his injury issues which have held him back, but you can see that he can play for any of the top clubs.”

The 23-year-old has emerged as one of Gary O’Neil’s standout players this campaign, contributing to 10 goals in the Premier League, with eight assists.

Wolves are likely to resist losing another Portuguese talent to Liverpool, given their previous sale of Diogo Jota to Klopp’s side in 2020, who has since become a consistent scorer at Anfield.

Given Neto’s importance to their team, Wolves are rumored to entertain offers starting at a minimum of £60m for the player.
