Liverpool Make Enquiry About 19-year-old Star After an Impressive Six-month Loan Spell

Liverpool have reportedly enquired about Juventus prodigy Dean Huijsen following his successful loan spell at Roma last season.

The 6’5 center-back, a product of Juventus’ academy, debuted for the club in October 2023 before moving to Roma on loan later that season.

Huijsen excelled during his time at Roma, featuring in 14 matches in the latter half of the season. His contributions included two goals and an assist from his central defensive position, while he also showcased versatility by playing in midfield for the Giallorossi.

Born in the Netherlands, Huijsen moved to Spain at a young age and has since represented Spain’s under-21 national team. His performances have garnered attention from top clubs across Europe.

Liverpool have previously been linked with Huijsen, and according to reports from Italian journalist Mirko Di Natale, the Reds have once again sought information regarding the 19-year-old’s current situation.

According to Tutto Juve’s Di Natale on X, Liverpool, along with Borussia Dortmund and Newcastle United, enquired about Huijsen on Friday morning.

All three clubs have shown considerable interest in the young player. Despite this, the Serie A club are reluctant to let go of Huijsen, considering him a key figure in their future plans. The defender himself is eager to remain with the Italian giants.

He is considered a good fit for new manager Thiago Motta’s system, and Juventus would only consider selling him for a significant offer, estimated to be at least €30m (£25m). Even such a sum might not persuade Juventus to agree to a transfer.

Therefore, a move for Huijsen appears improbable due to Juventus’ reluctance to part ways, although there’s no denying his potential as an exciting young talent.

Liverpool are anticipated to strengthen their squad this summer by signing a new centre-back, with Goncalo Inacio and Lutsharel Geertruida among the players linked.
