“Expectation is” – Journalist Says “Outstanding” Liverpool Star Set to Sign “Improved Terms Deal”

According to journalist Ben Jacobs, Liverpool defender Jarell Quansah is set to extend his contract with the Reds. Quansah, 21, has had a breakthrough season, gaining Jurgen Klopp’s confidence, and is expected to commit to a long-term deal at Anfield.

Despite signing a new contract just last year, Quansah’s impressive performance this season has earned him another pay rise as Liverpool prepare to reinforce their defensive options in the upcoming transfer window under incoming manager Arne Slot.

Liverpool ‘to Reward’ Quansah

Jacobs told GIVEMESPORT that Liverpool seek to reward Quansah for his outstanding performances.

“Liverpool value Quansah. He’s one of the players that has stood out and Liverpool tend to reward such players to make sure that they feel valued and that their long-term future is settled.

“Nothing is agreed or signed at this point, but the expectation is that Quansah will get an improved-terms deal.”

Quansah, a product of Liverpool’s academy, marked his inaugural season with a notable milestone by making his debut for the first team.

Throughout the season, the 21-year-old featured in 16 Premier League fixtures, earning a spot in the starting lineup for 11 of them. His breakthrough moment arrived when he netted his inaugural league goal in a thrilling 3-3 draw against Aston Villa on Monday night.

As the season progressed, the young centre-back solidified his position as a regular starter, stepping into the breach left by seasoned players like Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip. Micah Richards praised his performances, hailing him as an “outstanding” player.

Matip Set to Depart Liverpool

Matip, currently on an expiring deal, is expected to depart Liverpool at the season’s end. His tenure with the Reds, spanning 201 appearances and 11 goals, appears to conclude amidst injury woes sustained last December.

On a free transfer from Schalke in 2016, Matip flourished at Anfield, contributing to Premier League and Champions League triumphs.

Speculation mounts regarding Matip’s potential destinations, with Italy or Turkey cited as probable landing spots. Meanwhile, Liverpool faces the prospect of another defensive departure in the imminent months.

GIVEMESPORT hints at Joe Gomez’s potential exit, as he contemplates a fresh challenge away from Liverpool. Despite his significance under Klopp, Gomez has grappled with securing a regular starting role at Anfield.

Having arrived from Charlton in 2015 and debuting at 18, Gomez’s nine-season stint yielded 224 appearances sans a goal for the Reds. As he approaches his prime, departing Liverpool may align with his aspirations of consistent starting opportunities in the latter stage of his career.
