According to report, Liverpool are eyeing a £30 million deal to acquire Sporting Lisbon standout in the upcoming summer transfer window.

In the recent edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, senior correspondent Pete O’Rourke discussed the trend of Portuguese clubs setting lofty buyout clauses in player contracts.

O’Rourke highlighted that Marcus Edwards Edwards was previously linked with a Premier League move in January but stayed put in Portugal.

Starting his senior career at Tottenham, the 25-year-old winger had only one appearance for the club before departing the Premier League side in 2019. Since then, he has gone on to play over 100 matches for Sporting.
