“Almost Done” – Fabrizio Romano Shares Big Liverpool Update He’s Just Heard From Anfield

Liverpool’s Fabio Carvalho is set to depart Anfield, as he nears a loan deal with Hull City for the 2023/24 season.

The potential transfer of Carvalho to Hull City is close to completion, with renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano sharing exclusive insights with GIVEMESPORT about the agreement.

Under Jurgen Klopp’s leadership, Liverpool have had a remarkable start to the 2023/24 season. They currently lead the Premier League and are contenders for the Europa League, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup titles.

Following a less than stellar loan period at RB Leipzig, Carvalho won’t be part of Klopp’s plans for Liverpool this season. He is expected to showcase his skills in the Championship with Hull City. The move will likely represent the Premier League giants’ first significant 2024 winter transfer window exit.

Liverpool aimed to lend Carvalho for a season to gain valuable playing time, crucial for his development. Despite initially featuring frequently in Klopp’s squads for the 2022/23 season, his game time reduced after the 2022 World Cup break.

Considering the circumstances, a temporary transfer from Liverpool became the preferred option. The hope was that Carvalho, with his potential, would benefit another team, especially with Liverpool’s prestigious European Cup history. Subsequently, he joined RB Leipzig on a loan for the 2023/24 season.

Yet, Carvalho’s time in Germany wasn’t fruitful. He struggled to establish himself at RB Leipzig, making only nine Bundesliga appearances, amounting to just 11% of total game time, without contributing any goals or assists. Consequently, by December’s end, the loan was terminated, and Carvalho returned to Liverpool, seeking another loan opportunity for more playing time.

Reports from Sky Sports indicated considerable interest in Carvalho’s services post the 2024 winter transfer window’s commencement. However, on January 8th, Sky Sports correspondent Lyall Thomas disclosed that Hull City had advanced in negotiations, aiming to secure Carvalho for the remaining 2023/24 season.

Several other clubs, including Leicester City, Southampton, Sevilla, and VfB Stuttgart, had shown interest in the midfielder. Additionally, Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers had inquired about a potential loan deal.

Yet, recent updates from Italian journalist Romano suggest Hull has given Carvalho permission to undergo a medical examination, hinting at an imminent move. Liverpool remains optimistic that Carvalho will rediscover his form, especially with a crucial summer transfer window approaching.

Fabrizio Romano Update on Fabio Carvalho

Romano asserts that Carvalho’s move to Hull is nearly finalized, even with interest from other teams.

The transfer specialist also discloses that both the attacking midfielder’s agent and Liverpool have agreed for the young talent to join MKM Stadium on a temporary basis. When questioned about Carvalho’s imminent exit from Anfield, Romano informed GIVEMESPORT on Monday afternoon:

“Yes, this is almost done. The player has permission and will now travel to complete his medical at Hull. He had many possibilities, such as Wolves in the Premier League, and he also had some possibilities in the Championship with Leeds and Southampton.

“Many different clubs wanted him. They decided on Hull with the player’s agent and the club because Liverpool wanted guaranteed game time for Carvalho. So, it will be a straight loan with no buy option for Hull.”
