Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has approved one of the Reds’ managerial targets to take over from him an Anfield.
Recalled that the German had announced he will be leaving the club at the end of the current season, necessitating the search for his successor.
Several names have surfaced on FSG shortlist with the likes of Xabi Alonso, Roberto De Zerbi, Ruben Amorim, Thomas Frank being linked to the managerial role.
Amid speculations surrounding the search for a new manager at Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp has now approved Xabi Alonso as a “standout new coach” to take over from him at the end of the season.
“Xabi Alonso, exceptional. He’s doing an incredible job and I’m not saying that because I’m leaving Liverpool”.
“Even if you would have asked me eight weeks ago about Xabi Alonso, I would have gone: 𝐨𝐡 𝐦𝐲 𝐆𝐨𝐝!”.
“The next generation is already there… I’d say Xabi Alonso is standout in that department, he’s super!”.
Newsnow Liverpool had reported that the Reds have initiated contact with the representatives of Xabi Alonso over a potential Anfield return to replace Jurgen Klopp.
