Liverpool Learn of ‘Two Florian Wirtz Agreements’ as Mammoth Transfer Deal Awaits

Liverpool are reportedly falling behind in the competition to sign Florian Wirtz this summer due to two pre-existing agreements.

The talented playmaker has previously been linked with a move to Anfield, with Manchester City, Bayern Munich, and Real Madrid also showing interest in his progress.

Wirtz established himself as one of Europe’s top young prospects last season by leading Bayern Leverkusen to an unbeaten Bundesliga campaign, scoring 11 goals and providing 11 assists in 32 league matches.

The 21-year-old’s impressive season has fueled speculation about a big-money transfer from Germany, with Liverpool among the clubs interested and expected to make a significant offer this summer under Arne Slot.

However, the Reds may need to shift their focus away from Wirtz, as securing his transfer appears unlikely for the Merseyside team.

According to Marca, two agreements are already in place concerning any potential move from Leverkusen, the first being that Wirtz will not leave the BayerArena this summer.

Instead, Wirtz plans to depart the club ahead of the 2025/26 season, with his immediate goal being to help retain the Bundesliga title next season under Xabi Alonso.

Additionally, the Leverkusen academy graduate has a ‘verbal agreement’ with Real Madrid that could see him move to the Santiago Bernabeu in 2025. Wirtz has reportedly agreed on personal terms with Los Blancos, potentially speeding up negotiations next year.

Reports indicate that Real Madrid may need to pay as much as £127 million to secure the transfer of Florian Wirtz. His addition would further enhance an already exceptionally talented squad.

Kylian Mbappe, Endrick, Rodrygo, and Jude Bellingham are expected to compete for positions in Carlo Ancelotti’s team next season. Wirtz would bring an additional layer of creative skill to the lineup.

There is also speculation that the midfielder could reunite with Bayer Leverkusen manager Xabi Alonso in La Liga in 2025.

Sources in Spain suggest that Alonso, who recently turned down offers from Liverpool and Bayern Munich, aspires to return to his former club and eventually succeed Ancelotti at the Santiago Bernabeu.
