‘Really Good’: Glen Johnson Names the Most Underrated Liverpool Player in Premier League

Glen Johnson has named a Red who he considers to be the most underrated player in the Premier League.

England’s top flight is home to several players who often fly under the radar. Ben White, John McGinn, and Nathan Ake are examples of talent that doesn’t always receive adequate recognition.

However, in an interview with Squawka, Johnson named Liverpool’s Alexis Mac Allister as the most underrated player in the Premier League right now.

Glen Johnson Says Alexis Mac Allister is the Most Underrated Player in the Premier League

Johnson shared his verdict on Mac Allister and how underrated he is.

“Who do you think has been the most underrated player of the Premier League this season?” Johnson was asked.

The first one that comes to my mind is probably (Alexis) Mac Allister at Liverpool. People have realised how good he is, but what I mean is he’s been playing out of position, with no fuss, but still keeping up really good performances and he scored some really big, important goals as well,” Johnson said.

“It’s not easy for some players to play out of position for so long and do it with a smile on their face.

“So I think people forget that he’s playing out of position, and he’d much rather play further up. So I’d probably pick someone like that, that’s done a job for the team and kind of sacrifices himself a little bit.”

Alexis Mac Allister Has Been Outstanding

Alexis Mac Allister’s debut season for Liverpool has been outstanding.

While Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah are frequently mentioned as Liverpool’s top performers, there’s a compelling argument that Mac Allister has been the club’s Player of the Season.

His consistent performance across various midfield roles has more than justified his £35 million price tag.

Whether or not Mac Allister is the most underrated player in the Premier League is debatable, but he’s undoubtedly one of the Signings of the Season.
