Liverpool Star Refuses to Rule Out Summer Exit as Club Make Transfer Promise

Fábio Carvalho recently engaged in discussions regarding his future at Liverpool after his loan move to Hull City in January. The Tigers have expressed a keen interest in securing a permanent transfer for Carvalho should they achieve promotion.

Liverpool youngster Fábio Carvalho has not ruled out the possibility of leaving the club in summer transfer window. Hull City are keen on retaining him if they secure promotion back to the Premier League.

Carvalho, who is 21 years old, made the move to the Championship side in January following a challenging period at RB Leipzig, where he started only three games.

Due to limited opportunities at Liverpool last season, it was deemed beneficial for Carvalho’s development to embark on a short-term loan spell. Since joining Hull, he has made a positive impression, netting three goals in nine appearances for the club.

Hull’s recent form has seen them lose just two of their last nine matches in the Championship, propelling them into contention for a play-off spot. Nevertheless, Carvalho’s future at Anfield remains uncertain, as the decision on loaned-out players is likely to be made by Liverpool’s next manager during the summer.

Carvalho maintains that he is currently not contemplating leaving Liverpool and is committed to playing for Hull. “I just want to concentrate on where I am now, which is Hull, and whatever else happens will happen,” he told i sport. “Obviously there’s going to be a few changes but I’ll just leave it to God and wherever he guides me, I’ll go.”

Hull are keen on retaining the Portugal Under-21s standout, yet anticipate Liverpool will seek a substantial fee for the player. Carvalho was acquired by Liverpool for $6.4 million (£5 million/€5.9 million) from Fulham in 2022.

Hull’s executive vice chairman Tan Kesler said: “[He has] a Premier League level salary [and] Liverpool are going to demand quite a bit of a transfer fee for him. The chairman would want to sign him, he would do it in a heartbeat, if there’s no FFP, no regulations, no control, I’m sure we will invest to sign Fábio.

“If we’re promoted for sure we will pursue him because of the money we would be receiving, we would try to allocate those finances on players like Fábio. It can be unrealistic expectations for some of our fans but we’re very optimistic. If any of this happens we will do it because he’s someone we would love to have long term.”

Carvalho has recovered from a challenging period at Leipzig and has showcased impressive performance since his move to Hull.

His ample game time away from Anfield this season was crucial, especially with Klopp’s departure hinting at a potential fresh beginning for Liverpool’s loaned players in the upcoming summer.

Whether Carvalho aligns with the new manager’s strategies remains uncertain, but he’ll have many options if he pursues a permanent transfer elsewhere.
