There was loan offers that Liverpool were never, ever going to agree to because it just made no sense financially,” he said.
“And then, of course, I think there was a £15 million bid from Forest in January that again, was far too late in the window and didn’t come close to meeting their valuation. I think Liverpool view him as probably worth double that. But there is an acceptance you can only keep hold of someone like him so long.”
