Jurgen Klopp Names Liverpool Player Who’s Got “Plenty of Super Things” the Club Need

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has expressed admiration for Cody Gakpo following his 10th goal of the season.

Speaking to the Anfield media team, Klopp emphasized that the 24-year-old contributes “plenty of super things” to the Reds team.

Gakpo has made a strong comeback to the Liverpool front line in recent months, demonstrating significant impact. He has regained his form and has now reached double figures in goals.

Earlier in the season, Klopp positioned the versatile £37 million player in a deeper role, but his performance was not as satisfactory.

The Reds boss, speaking ahead of the Premier League meeting with Luton Town, also rubbished ideas that Gakpo is going “under the radar” somewhat.

“It was not under the radar,” said Klopp. “If you would ask Cody, he would not say it is the best season of his life but we all know how good a player he is and he is always a threat.

“He can be a threat in the air, he is on the ground really good, has a super finish, a good nose for finishing situations, a good dribbler, can keep the ball for us.

“Plenty of super things we can use and we need and yeah, that’s it pretty much.”

Cody Gakpo Shining in Liverpool Attack

Versatility holds a significant weight in modern football, presenting both advantages and challenges.

For Gakpo, his adaptability extends to the midfield, where he seamlessly integrates, yet his performance in this position falls slightly short.

Moreover, the psychological aspect cannot be overlooked, as a player’s confidence may wane following subpar displays.

Klopp deserves acknowledgment for acknowledging Gakpo’s previous dip in form, commending the Dutchman’s abilities, and pledging to optimize his placement in attacking roles.
