Liverpool Legend Makes “100%” Mohamed Salah Future Claim Amid Interest From Saudi Arabia

A former Liverpool star has claimed that Mohamed Salah will leave the club at the conclusion of the current season.

Last summer, Salah attracted significant attention from Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Ittihad, who reportedly tabled an offer exceeding £200 million for the 31-year-old.

Despite Liverpool rejecting the bid, reports suggest that Al-Ittihad remain keen on securing Salah’s services and are poised to make another bid once the transfer window reopens, with the league prioritizing his signing as part of their expansion plans.

In 2022, Salah signed a new contract with Liverpool, earning £400,000 per week, making him the highest-paid player in the club’s history.

However, with only a year left on his current deal when the transfer window reopens this summer, speculation about his potential departure has intensified.

Liverpool, currently holding a two-point advantage over rivals Man City, are on track to clinch Premier League glory. However, Reds legend Mark Lawrenson has insisted that Mohamed Salah’s tenure at the club is nearing its conclusion, irrespective of their position in the league standings.

“100% Mo Salah will definitely leave this summer.’ Lawrenson told Paddy Power.

“No matter what happens this season, I think there was a deal last summer.”

“He’ll go and play somewhere like Saudi Arabia and hopefully Liverpool get a massive fee and get a couple of players off the back of it.

“Salah will be a king in Saudi! He could’ve gone last summer and stormed into Jurgen Klopp’s office and said “I want to go” but he’s not done that.”

Jurgen Klopp’s side has been missing their key player in recent weeks as he led Egypt in their initial two matches at the Africa Cup of Nations. Unfortunately, an injury cut short his participation in the tournament, resulting in Egypt’s elimination at the round of 16 stage by DR Congo.

During his absence, Klopp has turned to other players such as Darwin Nunez, Cody Gakpo, and Diogo Jota. Notably, Jota has made a significant impact, scoring five goals in six Premier League matches since his return from injury on Boxing Day.

“The lads who have come in know that they’re fighting for their position which is great, as long as a couple of them don’t get injured,’ Lawrenson continued.

“You can see that Diogo Jota, Darwin Núñez and Luis Diaz like playing with each other and they all scored a goal against Burnley, even Nunez!

“When Mo Salah goes, and I think he will go, Liverpool might go and get a few more players for those positions.”

Salah, having recuperated from his injury sustained during international duty, is anticipated to participate in Liverpool’s match against Brentford this Saturday.
