Liverpool Handed Hope in Their Pursuit of 6-goal Attacker After Technical Director’s Response

Liverpool are reportedly among the clubs vying for PSV Eindhoven star Johan Bakayoko.

Bakayoko, who operates on the right wing, has tallied six goals and 13 assists from 33 games this season, catching the eye of several top European clubs, including the Reds.

According to Voetbalkrant, Liverpool have demonstrated ‘concrete interest’ in the 20-year-old Belgian talent.

Alongside Jürgen Klopp’s side, Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are also reportedly interested in acquiring Bakayoko’s services.

His contract extends until 2026, and PSV managed to retain him during the last two transfer windows. However, report suggests that this might change come summer.

Liverpool and other potential suitors have been given hope following PSV’s technical director Earnest Stewart’s admission that the current campaign marks the youngster’s final season with the Eredivisie outfit.

Stewart was a guest on NOS’ Studio Voetbal, and when asked whether the player will be still at the club next season, he said: “No, I don’t think so.”

Voetbalkrant reports Stewart’s remarks and notes that Bakayoko is presently valued at €40m, yet emphasises that the required signing fee will exceed this amount significantly.
