Ian Doyle rates the Liverpool squad following their entertaining 5-2 triumph in the FA Cup fourth round against Norwich City at Anfield on Sunday.

The Reds have advanced to the fifth round of the FA Cup with a commanding 5-2 victory over Championship team Norwich City at Anfield on Sunday.

In the first half, Curtis Jones and Darwin Nunez found the net, bookending an equaliser by Ben Gibson. The second half witnessed goals from Diogo Jota and substitute Virgil van Dijk, while Borja Sainz managed to score a consolation goal.

Here’s how the performance of Liverpool players is rated by Ian Doyle

Alisson Becker 7

No chance with either of Norwich’s goals and dealt comfortably with whatever else the Canaries conjured.

Conor Bradley 9

Another busy showing down the right flank in both directions and superb work to create the second goal and then assist the fifth. Impressive energy.

Jarell Quansah 6

Defensively untroubled first half but given more of a test after the break and handful of difficult moments. Another learning experience for the youngster.

Ibrahima Konate 7

Front-footed defending up against the wily Barnes and pace useful in dealing with rare Norwich breaks first half. Subbed.

Joe Gomez 7

Struggled a bit with the windy conditions early on but soon became more decisive and increasingly stepped inside. Mostly ignored shouts for him to shoot. Subbed.

James McConnell 7

Kept things simple in picking up second balls as the number six and put in fine cross for the opener. Tenacious in the air and cheered crowd with one strong tackle. Subbed.

Ryan Gravenberch 7

Another livelier showing from the Holland international, who used the ball well and had one effort cleared off line before being denied second half by great save from Norwich goalkeeper Long. Finally got his goal in the last minute of injury time.

Curtis Jones 8

Ghosted in at the far post to continue decent recent goalscoring form and composure helped Liverpool control midfield before break, and later assisted third. Subbed.

Diogo Jota 7

Hounded the Norwich defence with his pressing and involved in build-up to second goal before smashing in Liverpool’s third goal. Relentless performance, although shooting increasingly ambitious.

Darwin Nunez 8

Struck the outside of post with one effort from range and tucked away Liverpool’s second confidently. So lively. Subbed.

Slashed one over from close range, missed a sitter and dragged one effort wide in frustrating first half. Kept going after that with not much reward.

Andy Robertson (for Gomez 55) 6

Looked a player making his first appearance in almost four months but will be happy to shake off some ring-rust.

Virgil van Dijk (for Konate 55) 7

Powerful header for the third goal but stood off a little to allow Norwich’s second.

Dominik Szoboszslai (for Jones 55) 7

Lively cameo on his return, good corner delivery to create third and strong shot ssaved.

Another making his comeback from injury, started at right-back and then went into midfield.

Luis Diaz (for McConnell 79)

Colombian.
