Jurgen Klopp Successor: 11-trophy Manager and Champions League Winner Would “Absolutely Adore” to Take Liverpool Job – Journalist

Liverpool are set to embark on the quest for a new manager following Jurgen Klopp’s announcement that he will depart the club at the conclusion of the season.

The 56-year-old, originally contracted until the summer of 2026, cited a depletion of energy as the reason for his decision.

In the wake of Klopp’s revelation, various names have surfaced as potential successors at Anfield, with Xabi Alonso and Roberto De Zerbi among those in consideration.

Notably, Ben Jacobs has suggested that Thomas Tuchel of Bayern Munich would “absolutely adore” the opportunity to take the Liverpool job.

Thomas Tuchel, aged 50, boasts an impressive track record, having secured 11 major trophies, including the 2022 Champions League, two Ligue 1 titles, and one Bundesliga title.

Tuchel achieved Champions League success in his debut season with Chelsea and guided the team to two FA Cup finals. However, he faced dismissal in 2022.

Following his stint at Chelsea, Tuchel joined Bayern Munich. Recent reports from BILD indicate that he is currently under scrutiny as Bayern trail behind Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen.

Speaking to GiveMeSport about Tuchel and his prospects of replacing Klopp at Liverpool, Jacobs said: “It’s funny.

“Tuchel’s kind of saying he’s more appreciated in England than Germany and there could be a situation where he comes into the mix, which would be a little bit of a surprise, but I think he’d return to the Premier League in a heartbeat.

“And I think he’d love the opportunity to go to Liverpool and then show Chelsea what they missed out on. I think he would absolutely adore that.”

Tuchel stands out as a remarkable manager, boasting an impressive collection of trophies and extensive experience at the highest echelons of the sport. Consequently, he emerges as a strong candidate for Liverpool.

Nevertheless, the undeniable prowess of someone like Alonso, a burgeoning young manager excelling at Leverkusen and cherished as an Anfield cult hero, positions him as a superior choice to helm the Reds and spearhead a transformative project.

Similarly, De Zerbi’s remarkable achievements at Brighton, where he has defied expectations, cultivated an attractive style of play, and contributed to the establishment of a robust scouting network, make him an enticing option. His profile suggests a more fitting match for Liverpool than Tuchel.
