Eight Things Liverpool Need to Do/Have Happen to Win the Premier League Title This Season

Liverpool are top of the league with several players on injury list and some key players like Mohamed Salah and Wataru Endo on International duties.

Trent Alexander-Arnold was said to have sustained a knee injury in the FA Cup win over Arsenal on Sunday. It has been confirmed he’ll be out for a few weeks, adding to Liverpool injury woes.

Going forward, this will pose a tough challenge for Jurgen Klopp in the race to win the Premier League. With that in mind, Newsnow Liverpool has taken a look at eight things the squad need to do/have happen to clinch the title this year.

Injured Players Returning

At the moment LFC have various key players injured, particularly Thiago, Robertson and Szoboszlai. With these players coming back we will be able to add quality to the side and help bolster the squad size to help cope with the high number of games.

Nuñez Has to Step Up

This season Nuñez has been below par in his performances, particularly in his finishing. If he steps up the the task and starts taking his chances it will gift us a huge number of points this season, helping us win the title.

Winning Our Key Games

When looking at the calendar for our final 18 games some key dates stand out. Particularly the games against Arsenal and City, if we can play these big games and win we will be putting out a statement that we are here to compete for the league.

Avoiding Silly Results (Draws Especially)

This season we’ve had too many points lost to silly games that we should’ve won, if we want to win the title we need to make sure results such as those against Brighton and Luton do not happen again and that we put games to bed.

Continuing to Stay Tight at the Back

So far Liverpool have the best defense in the league, only conceding 18 goals in the first 20 games. If we want to win the title we have to build it upon a rock solid defence, allowing us to win more games and help our league chances.

Mohammed Salah

When he returns from AFCON Salah has to continue the elite form he has shown in the first half of the season. So far he has been phenomenal, topping both assists and goals in the premier league. Continuing this form will be essential for our title chances.

Taking Advantage of Lost Points

It has felt that many times this season we have not taken full advantage of the chances to build a points gap that have been given to us. In future when our title rivals drop points we HAVE to switch on and take advantage.

Luck

Sometimes on your way to a title you just need a bit of luck, wether that means opposition own goals or your rivals getting unlucky losses. If we want to win the title it feels like we need to ride our luck a little.

Let’s hope come the end of may we have won the league again.
