Konate is 24 years of age. At such young age, he still has areas he can develop and improve in his game. Although, he is already one of the best CB’s in the league. The next 2-4 years is where we will see the best of Konate, allowing him to reach greater heights.

Konate is immaculate in winning the ball back. He times his tackles to perfection and always wins the ball when he does so. He always seems to win the ball in every challenge he goes for. A defender that swipes and cleans up everything, and rarely gets it wrong.

Similiar to Joel Matip, we see Konate progress with the ball into the oppositions third more often. This helps initiate attacks against deep defences. This shows the growth Konate has had in confidence, as he is more calm on the ball when building from the back.
1v1
With #66 inverting, a huge space is left on the right side. Due to this, we see Ibou having to cover against the winger. As this happens regularly, the Frenchman’s ability to defend 1v1 situations is improving massively, making it near to impossible to get past him.
