Gary Neville Names Three Players Who are “World Class” in Liverpool Squad

The Reds currently lead the Premier League standings. After a challenging previous season, they have regained their status among the world’s elite teams.

This season, Liverpool’s key players have showcased exceptional performance. The top talents from the Merseyside club are displaying world-class abilities yet again.

On his podcast, Gary Neville discussed Liverpool’s standout players. He believes that three members of the Reds’ squad deserve recognition as world-class athletes.

Liverpool Have Three World Class Players

Neville identified Alisson Becker, along with Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah, as the world class players in the Liverpool squad.

“Before the game we did a piece and we said that they have three world class players Liverpool, Alisson, Van Dijk and Salah, Van Dijk has been back to his best the past month or two, Alisson is the best goalkeeper in the world and then they have someone who hits numbers from wide areas week-in week-out, it’s unbelievable really,” Neville said.

Thought

There is no question that Van Dijk, Salah, and Alisson stand out as world-class talents. However, it appears Neville’s list overlooks one significant player.

Trent Alexander-Arnold undeniably deserves recognition as a world-class talent. He consistently performs at a high level for Liverpool, making him a rare find in global football.

It’s a valid argument that Alexander-Arnold might be the finest right-back ever in the Premier League. If his performances don’t meet the criteria for world-class, it’s unclear what more he could achieve.

Liverpool is fortunate to have such exceptional players, all of whom are crucial contributors to their current title challenge.
