Newsnow Liverpool brings you an X thread on Liverpool best moments of 2023 as the year comes to end.
It’s been an absolutely insane rollercoaster of a year full of ups and downs. 2023 was filled with happy moments, sad moments, and frustrating moments (let’s not dive into that).
Let’s take a look at some of the best moments of 2023, along with the most memorable ones!
Liverpool Best Moments of 2023
Liverpool 7-0 Manchester United
It had to be first! Beating Man United will never be forgotten and has earned Liverpool fans bragging rights for years to come.
With goals from our star forwards:
Gakpo, Nunez, Salah, and Firmino.
Diogo Jota Goal vs Spurs
Liverpool were up 3-0 against Spurs but they managed to fight themselves back into the game to make it 3-3.
Richarlison celebrated with his infamous pigeon dance, seconds later, Jota strikes!
Karma at its finest.
Unbeaten Run at the End
Despite having a tough season, Liverpool found great form near the end, going on an 11-game unbeaten run, including 7 straight wins.
This run gave Liverpool fans hope for the future that with reinforcements, we can challenge again!
Roberto Firmino’s Farewell
Liverpool fans said goodbye to a legend, Roberto Firmino.
Not only did Liverpool fans say goodbye on the final day, but when Liverpool beat Leicester away, echoes of “Si Senor” rang around the King Power Stadium for 20 minutes.
One of the best!
End of an Era!
James Milner, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also bid farewell alongside Roberto Firmino.
During the summer we also saw Fabinho and captain Jordan Henderson leave too.
Truly the end of an era with each player being part of a memorable
LFC side.
Ringing in the New Season
Everyone knew Liverpool needed a midfield revamp, and that’s what came during the window.
Liverpool were ready to reclaim the throne at the top with Dominik Szoboszlai, Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister, and Wataru Endo leading the charge.
Darwin Nunez vs Newcastle
Virgil van Dijk red card, 1-0 down, odds against us, we bring on…
Darwin Nunez.
The rest is history.
Jurgen Klopp Silences Jason Tindall
As unfortunate as it was that Klopp silencing Jason Tindall was an edit, you can’t help but laugh at the fact that it’s something you know Klopp would do and the fans would’ve loved it!
Luis Manuel Diaz’s Family Reunion
Horrible news spread that Luis
Diaz’s parents were kidnapped.
With his mother having returned
within a few hours, the world waited
to hear about his father.
Luckily, his father was returned
safely and was welcomed by a special reunion.
Trent Alexander Arnold vs Man City
Hang this one in the Louvre! TAA has been phenomenal this season, tearing up opponents, assisting from every angle of the pitch, scoring screamers, and silencing everyone while doing so.
This celebration is a moment we’ll never forget.
That Fulham Comeback
Fulham brought the fight to Anfield when they were just 10 mins away from a 3-2 victory.
A beautiful finish from Endo sparked the comeback which then saw TAA fire in an 88th bottom corner finish.
Anfield Went Crazy!
Alisson Becker vs Crystal Palace
Alisson has delivered moments of magic for us more times than we all can count.
However, these saves vs Crystal Palace after returning from injury during a phase where a single point can’t be dropped will go down as a moment to remember.
Liverpool 5-1 West Ham
West Ham have been a tough side to beat this season with Arsenal, Man United, Chelsea, and Spurs all losing to the hammers.
Liverpool thrashed them 5-1 to qualify for the Semi Finals of the Carabao Cup with the trophy now only a few games away!
