Liverpool Could Be Without Six Players for Everton After Two New Injury Scares

Liverpool are preparing for their return to Premier League action as they get ready to face Everton at Anfield on Wednesday. The upcoming fixture will be a crucial moment for the Reds as they look to move past a difficult period in their season.
The team has endured a frustrating wait to recover from what has been their most challenging week so far. They suffered a defeat in the Carabao Cup final and a painful exit from the Champions League before heading into an extended break.
With their FA Cup campaign also coming to an end, Liverpool, who currently lead the Premier League standings, will have been out of action for 17 days since their Wembley loss to Newcastle United before returning to the pitch.
Their return will see them take on local rivals Everton in what promises to be an intense Merseyside derby at Anfield on Wednesday, April 2.
The fixture, which is the last meeting between the two sides this season, presents the Reds with an opportunity to strengthen or at least maintain their 12-point advantage over second-placed Arsenal.
Arne Slot’s squad should be well-rested, given their free weekend ahead of the clash. However, the key question remains—how many players will be fit and available for selection against the Blues?
One major concern is goalkeeper Alisson Becker, who had to be substituted after reportedly suffering a concussion during Brazil’s victory over Colombia in the early hours of Friday morning.
Brazil’s national team doctor, Rodrigo Lasmar, said: “Becker suffered a trauma to the head region, he was replaced by a suspected concussion.
“Now we will do all the CBF protocol, it will undergo recommended imaging tests, a computed tomography, then a resonance with diffusion. If all the tests are normal, we’ll follow up and do a cognitive test. And then we will evaluate the player.
“In the possibility that everything is normal, we will make a sequence of observations in the coming days. Today, we will do the tests, all the necessary evaluations.
“Alisson is normal, with no complaints. He reported no fainting and no memory loss. He thought it was a little slower. In this complaint, the recommended is the replacement of the player.”
Liverpool later issued a statement confirming that Alisson was on his way back to Merseyside, where he would be assessed by the club’s medical team.
The Brazilian goalkeeper then reassured fans through a social media update, stating, “Hey guys, just to let you know I’m fine. I just have to follow the protocols! Thanks for the messages.”
Liverpool head coach Arne Slot is set to provide an update on Alisson when he holds a press conference early next week to preview the highly anticipated clash with Everton.
Defenders Joe Gomez (hamstring), Trent Alexander-Arnold (ankle), and Conor Bradley (hamstring) will not be available for the match against David Moyes’ side as they continue their recovery from respective injuries. As a result, Jarell Quansah is expected to start at right-back.
Ryan Gravenberch is one of several Liverpool players who have shown signs of fatigue in recent weeks due to the demanding fixture schedule this season.
The midfielder withdrew from the Netherlands squad late last week with an unspecified injury, which will be assessed upon his return to Merseyside. However, like Alisson, there is hope that he will recover in time to feature in the derby.
One player who is definitely ruled out is Tyler Morton. The young midfielder has struggled for game time this season and was expected to play a more significant role after the New Year. However, a shoulder injury sustained in the Carabao Cup quarter-final against Southampton in December required surgery in February, keeping him sidelined.
