“Hopefully Within a Few Years” – David Hancko Makes Big Liverpool Claim as Arne Slot Unveiled

David Hancko has shared his thoughts on his former Feyenoord head coach, Arne Slot, moving to Liverpool.

Hancko supports Slot’s potential to become one of the world’s top coaches following his appointment at Liverpool.

Slot, the Dutchman, was announced as Jurgen Klopp’s successor at Anfield last month and began his new role as the club’s first head coach on June 1.

Slot joins Liverpool from Feyenoord, where he won the Eredivisie title and the KNVB Cup and led the team to a European Conference League final.

Hancko joined Feyenoord from Sparta Prague for €6 million in August 2022 and quickly became an essential player for Slot’s team, contributing to their success over the past two seasons. The 26-year-old made 93 appearances and scored 11 goals under Slot’s management.

His standout performances with the Eredivisie club have led to speculation about a potential reunion with Slot at Anfield. Additionally, his wife has confirmed that he intends to leave Feyenoord this summer.

Currently, Hancko is representing Slovakia at Euro 2024. When asked about Slot in a recent press conference, the lifelong Liverpool fan expressed that he wasn’t surprised to see the Reds showing interest in his former coach.

“I’m not surprised that such a big club like Liverpool has signed him (Slot),” he said. “Hopefully within a few years he will be seen as one of the best trainers in the world.

“I have been fortunate to work with him over the past two years and he has helped me a lot in my development, including tactically and the system he wants to play in. That has helped me enormously.

“He is a very good coach and I wish him the best of luck. I have a feeling he will do well at Liverpool because he will now be working with better players than at Feyenoord.

“Although we have had two great seasons. This is a great move for him, and I’m not surprised that such a big club like Liverpool has signed him.”
