“Going to play for” – Darwin Nunez’s Former Agent Makes Liverpool Exit Claim After Deleting Instagram Posts

Darwin Nunez has recently been displaced from Liverpool’s starting line-up and has encountered difficulties finding the net.

According to a statement from Darwin Nunez’s previous representative, the Liverpool forward is expected to join one of Spain’s top clubs at some point. Nunez, who transferred from Benfica to Anfield for a potential record fee of £85 million two years ago, has faced challenges during his time with Liverpool.

Despite scoring 18 goals in 52 matches this season, Nunez has fallen out of favour in the starting XI as Liverpool’s Premier League title hopes faded and they were eliminated from the Europa League.

Following his brief 15-minute appearance as a substitute in Sunday’s victorious 4-2 match against Tottenham, the Uruguay international took a drastic step by wiping out all his Liverpool-related content from his Instagram profile.

This move comes amidst his dwindling goal-scoring record, having only found the net twice since March.

While opinions among Kopites remain divided on Nunez’s potential as a top-class player, his former agent, Edgardo Lasalvia, reportedly expressed optimism during an interview with Uruguayan radio Sport 890.

Lasalvia believes Nunez has the talent to eventually feature for either Real Madrid or Barcelona in his career.

Via journalist Federico Buysan on X, Lasalvia said: “I adore Darwin. They killed him here [in Uruguay] and now he’s a god.

“He’s going to play for Real Madrid and Barcelona. He deleted the photos because they told him any nonsense. The guy got hot, he’s impulsive.”

Lasalvia was Nunez’s representative until 2022, after which he joined Gestifute, led by renowned superagent Jorge Mendes. Despite the 24-year-old’s recent challenges, Lasalvia remains optimistic about his former client’s potential to excel as a goal scorer.

Via winwin.com, he added: “Darwin is one of the best current strikers in the world, I don’t work with him anymore but I love him very much.

“We have overcome many challenges and difficulties together, including two knee operations. Thanks to our support and great love, and with his will and that of his family, he was able to overcome it.

“I would like him to believe in himself again and remember everything he went through to get to his current place, and to rely on the people who really love him with or without success, with or without money, because he will succeed again in life and become the best striker in the world.

“Why did he miss easy chances? Footballers are human beings and these are just periods in their careers, they must be supported.

“Nunez can be a goalscorer wherever he plays, I hope it happens the best for the Liverpool team and its fans and the best for Darwin and his family.”
