Real Madrid players hold the belief that Kylian Mbappe will not be joining their club this summer, even though the La Liga side are considered the top contender to sign the football superstar.
On Sunday night, Foot Mercato reported that Mbappe had come to terms with Real Madrid and had decided to commit his future to the Spanish club, turning down an extension offer from PSG.
However, the same media outlet now suggests that the Mbappe transfer saga is not a significant topic of discussion within the Real Madrid dressing room. A few players have touched upon the matter, and they are skeptical about the French striker’s potential move to Los Blancos.
Fabrice Hawkins of RMC Sport stated that, according to Mbappe’s entourage, there is currently no finalised agreement with any club. Nonetheless, this development will be a boost to other contenders in the race such as Liverpool.
The Times has highlighted that the PSG superstar is not pleased with Real Madrid’s efforts to pressure him into agreeing to a pre-contract deal this month. Consequently, Mbappe is keen on examining all potential avenues, one of which is a potential switch to the Premier League.
Liverpool are considered favourites should the World Cup winner decide to pursue this direction as journalist Julian Laurens claims the PSG sensation “really likes” the Reds.
Despite these developments, the narrative surrounding Mbappe’s future is expected to evolve in the upcoming months. However, even with the current speculation, Real Madrid remains the top contender to secure the football prodigy in 2024.
