Mohamed Salah’s Lawyer Offers Cryptic Response to Liverpool Exit Links

The speculation surrounding Mohamed Salah’s future remains a focal point in the transfer market.

Last summer, Saudi Arabia made notable efforts to acquire Salah, and as the Egyptian approaches the final 18 months of his deal with Liverpool, the speculations persist. While an immediate departure seems unlikely, discussions about his potential exit from Anfield at the season’s end have gained traction.

Liverpool have been tentatively linked with potential recruits to fill the void left by Salah’s potential departure. The 31-year-old’s absence would undoubtedly be felt deeply within the squad.

Any replacement would undoubtedly command a significant fee. However, in the world of transfer rumors, multiple narratives exist, and there are suggestions that Salah might even consider extending his tenure with Liverpool.

The Athletic’s David Ornstein recently commented on Al-Ittihad’s continued interest in Salah, stating: “I’ve even had some suggestions he would quite like to stay and continue to compete at the highest level in Europe,” (via TEAMtalk).

Journalist François Plateau also reported something of a similar nature back in November, claiming that both Salah and Jurgen Klopp are ‘leaning towards extending their contracts with Liverpool’.

Liverpool fans would surely be delighted, but any confirmation awaits official statements from either the player or the club. Adding a layer of complexity, Salah’s lawyer, Ramy Abbas Issa, recently commented on a Salah-related link via X (formerly Twitter). Notably, Abbas, though influential in Salah’s career, doesn’t identify as an ‘agent’.

In March 2023, Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna reported that the winger was considering a departure from Liverpool that summer, with Spain being his preferred next stop. Fast forward ten months, and Abbas has now chosen to address this long-standing speculation.

“You just don’t know,” he bluntly wrote. This is not new behaviour from Abbas, as he has previously posted other cryptic social media messages, usually in response to speculation over his client’s future.

Certainly, there isn’t a lot of information to interpret from that one tweet, leaving its meaning open to various possibilities.

Is he shutting down all exit talks, or just the part about Salah ‘favouring’ Spain? Why is he replying now? His response has added an air of mystery, making the approach to the summer transfer window even more captivating.
