Unconvincing when dealing with Jesus cross early on and caught in no man’s land for Gabriel opener. Fielded rare Arsenal raids second half.

Trent Alexander-Arnold 8

Dealt well with Martinelli to the point the Arsenal man was replaced and shone with his distribution, not least for the equaliser. Should have scored when hitting bar second half, though.

Impressive in the air and didn’t allow Jesus much space to breathe. Some passing was a bit ambitious, however.

Kostas Tsimikas 7

Wasn’t embarrassed by the dangerous Saka until being sent flying by the player into Klopp and having to depart with a shoulder injury. Subbed.

Wataru Endo 7

Threatened to be overrun in the opening exchanges but got to grips with the game and began to bring pressure and tempo. Used ball well in tight positions. Booked.

Not much impact in the final third but impressed with defensive efforts before break. Second half more of the same.

Ability to keep hold of the ball and show composure helped Liverpool belatedly settle. Subbed.

Mohamed Salah 7

Wasn’t distracted by early issues up against Zinchenko and won battle first half, and struck fine leveller after earlier hitting side-netting. Moved central for final quarter.
