‘Medical Booked’ – Liverpool ‘Agree All Aspects’ of Deal for Next Summer Signing as Star ‘Very Happy’ After Snubbing Rivals

Liverpool are moving swiftly in the transfer market following their Premier League triumph.

The Reds are wasting no time in strengthening their squad after clinching the Premier League title.

They secured their 20th top-flight title during Arne Slot’s debut season in charge and are eager to retain their crown by reinforcing key areas over the summer.

The club decided against any signings during the January window, although Slot had suggested that preparations for summer arrivals were already underway. Jeremie Frimpong has now been officially announced as a new addition, with Liverpool also pushing to complete deals for Milos Kerkez and Florian Wirtz. Securing all three would take their total summer expenditure close to £200 million.

Liverpool have also brought in around £22.5 million through player sales, following Trent Alexander-Arnold’s early departure to Real Madrid and Caoimhin Kelleher’s move to Brentford.

Liverpool ‘Agree All Aspects’ of Milos Kerkez Deal

Liverpool are progressing in negotiations for both Kerkez and Wirtz, but a transfer for the Hungarian left-back appears to be nearing completion. As reported by TBR Football, the Reds have “agreed all aspects of a deal for Kerkez” and have already scheduled his medical.

The outlet’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey said: “I understand Kerkez is very happy to get the deal done – he was contacted by a handful of rival clubs in the last month, but made it clear he only wanted to join Liverpool.”

Kerkez is presently on international duty with Hungary and is expected to feature alongside Liverpool star Dominik Szoboszlai on Friday evening when the national team face Sweden in a friendly fixture.

While an exact fee has yet to be disclosed, reports suggest Liverpool will pay between £40 million and £45 million for the defender. Kerkez featured in every Premier League match for Bournemouth last season, contributing two goals and six assists.

Milos Kerkez Arrival Will Spell End for Andy Robertson or Kostas Tsimikas

Liverpool currently have strong options at left-back, with Andy Robertson as the first choice and Kostas Tsimikas providing cover. However, Robertson has just one year remaining on his contract, while Tsimikas is tied to the club for another two years.

At just 21, Kerkez is seen as a long-term solution in the position, but his imminent arrival is likely to lead to the departure of either Robertson or Tsimikas — with the latter appearing the more probable, unless Robertson decides that moving on would be best for his career.

Speaking at an event last month, the Scotland international expressed his desire to extend his stay at the club, saying he was keen on signing a new deal.

“I have only got a year left, so I hope all you guys can help me with making the same noise around a new contract as you did with Mo and Virgil’s! I’ve had eight wonderful years so far and I have a year left. I am not as young as I once was but I love this club and I have had some great memories here, so let’s see what the future holds.

“I still believe I can still produce good performances and some really good performances and I think I have done that this season.

“So I still think I can produce at the top level and if I can do that then that is where I belong and hopefully I can stay here for many years to come.”
