Arne Slot Urged to Re-sign 11-goal Forward Who is ‘Better’ Than Cody Gakpo for Liverpool

Arne Slot has been told to reunite with Igor Paixao at Liverpool, having previously signed the Brazilian winger for Feyenoord.
Former Feyenoord manager Rob Jacobs has urged Liverpool to bring in Igor Paixao, arguing that he would be an improvement on Cody Gakpo. Slot secured the Brazilian’s transfer to the Dutch club in August 2022, and since then, Paixao has become a key player for the team.
This season, the 24-year-old has contributed 11 goals and 15 assists in 38 appearances for Feyenoord, bringing his overall tally to 32 goals and 25 assists across 120 matches for the club.
He has been tentatively linked with a potential move to Liverpool, which would see him reunite with Slot at Anfield.
Jacobs, a former Feyenoord player who also managed the club during the 1988/89 season, believes that Paixao would strengthen Liverpool’s squad.
He even went so far as to claim that the Brazilian left-winger is a superior player to Gakpo, who has achieved a career-best 16 goals for Liverpool this season.

“Then I’ll go for Paixao. I really think he makes Liverpool stronger,” he told 1908.nl. “Arne Slot should also enjoy his development.
“Gakpo is of course also a fantastic player and is doing well at Liverpool, but I think Paixao is better.
“It wouldn’t surprise me if Liverpool would report to Feyenoord. Hey, €40 million or €50 million? They don’t make a fuss about that in England.
“He is getting better every day. Incredibly goal-oriented, he is the most dangerous man at Feyenoord. Really nothing but praise, he scores magnificent goals.
“It’s not normal how he kicks that ball in! That’s how you punish a mistake. Pure class. He was not in the pre-selection of Brazil for nothing, that is quite an elite club.”
