One Player Missing as Liverpool’s 25-man Squad Trains for Premier League Return

Harvey Elliott was notably absent from Liverpool’s training session on Thursday, despite the return of the club’s international players.

The Reds are now fully focused on their preparations for the upcoming match against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

On Thursday, Liverpool’s first-team squad reconvened at the AXA Training Centre, following a nearly two-week break during which 19 senior players were away on international duty.

The session began in the gym, after which the team transitioned to the outdoor pitches as they intensified their training for the weekend fixture.

Among the players in attendance was Curtis Jones, who has yet to make an appearance this season due to a muscle injury sustained in the early weeks of the campaign.

Harvey Elliott was the only notable absentee, having been ruled out for up to six weeks after suffering an injury during training with the England U21s. Liverpool will be hoping for his quick recovery.

With no further injury concerns, Feyenoord manager Arne Slot will be looking for his team to continue their impressive form before the international break.

However, Liverpool will face a tough challenge against Nottingham Forest, who are unbeaten this season with one win and two draws so far.

According to FBref, Forest have conceded the second fewest expected goals against them (2.1xG) this season, with only Manchester City conceding fewer (2xG).

It remains to be seen if Slot’s forwards, who have performed exceptionally well this season, will be able to break through Forest’s strong defense.
