Liverpool “Desperate” to secure Andy Robertson Successor Amid Tchouameni Transfer Receives Green Light

Andy Robertson hasn’t been as consistently present in Arne Slot’s Liverpool lineups as he was during his years at Anfield under former manager Jurgen Klopp. The left-back, who was once a regular starter, now finds himself in a slightly reduced role.

This weekend, Arne Slot reinstated Robertson to the starting lineup against Aston Villa at Anfield. Prior to this, the Scottish defender was absent from Liverpool’s 2-1 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion, and only played the final ten minutes in the recent win against Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen.

At 30 years old, Robertson has started just one of Liverpool’s four Champions League games this season. He also made only a late substitute appearance in last month’s match against Crystal Palace.

His absence in the Brighton fixture marked his second omission from a Premier League matchday squad this season—equalling the number of missed squads in Klopp’s last two seasons combined.

Kostas Tsimikas has been sharing the left-back duties with Robertson, coming close in appearances to the Scotland international, with just four fewer games played this season.

Recent reports suggest that Liverpool may be looking for a successor to their long-serving left-back. Here’s a look at the latest transfer rumours surrounding Liverpool.

Reds “Desperate” for Andy Robertson Successor

According to the Sunday Mirror, Liverpool are “desperate” to secure Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez as a potential replacement for Andy Robertson before the start of next season.

The club are said to be considering a summer move for the 21-year-old, who recently impressed by assisting both of Bournemouth’s goals in their 2-1 victory over Manchester City earlier this month.

Reds sporting director Richard Hughes, who signed the Hungary international for Bournemouth from AZ Alkmaar for around £15.5 million, now sees his former acquisition’s value significantly increase.

The one-time AC Milan player is currently estimated to be worth over three times his original fee, with a reported valuation closer to £50 million.

Real Madrid “Green Light”

According to Football Insider, Aurelien Tchouameni is considering a potential move away from Real Madrid in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Liverpool, who initially pursued the midfielder when he left Monaco two-and-a-half years ago, missed out as he ultimately joined the reigning European champions.

Since his move, however, the France international appears to have fallen out of favour in Madrid.

While a transfer during the winter window seems unlikely, waiting until the end of the season could potentially open up realistic possibilities for Liverpool to secure Tchouameni’s signature.
