John Barnes Says Liverpool Player Will Explode Under Arne Slot After Watching Training

Liverpool are entering a new chapter under the leadership of Arne Slot, and the early signs are promising.

The Reds have secured victories in their first two Premier League matches, giving us a clearer picture of what Slot’s team might achieve this season.

On Premier League Productions, John Barnes shared his thoughts on Liverpool’s progress under Slot, expressing confidence that Harvey Elliott and Curtis Jones will excel under the new manager.

Barnes, who accompanied the team on their USA tour this summer, observed that the increased focus on technical training should help Elliott and Jones flourish.

John Barnes Tips Harvey Elliott to Kick on

Barnes spoke about the £4m man and the new Liverpool manager. “Well it’s not just early days in terms of the first two matches. I was on tour with them in pre-season and they were doing a lot of work technically.

“They’re going to be a much more technical team in midfield, not as high-energy, not as heavy metal,” Barnes said.

“The technical players in the midfield, that is going to suit them, the Harvey Elliott’s, the Curtis Jones’, it’s going to suit them, it’s not going to be the old Henderson, Fabinho, Milner.”

Harvey Elliott has the potential to significantly advance his career under Arne Slot’s guidance.

While Elliott was already making impressive strides under Jurgen Klopp, Slot’s influence could elevate his game even further.

Slot’s more technical approach aligns perfectly with Elliott’s strengths, and his use of a number 10 role in the 4-2-3-1 formation would allow Elliott to finally operate in his preferred position within the Liverpool squad.

Although it might take some time for Elliott to secure a regular starting role, there’s good reason to believe that he could eventually become a key player and a star under Slot’s management at Liverpool.
