‘A Possibility’: Liverpool Could Sell £37m Player and Replace Him With Someone Who Scores More

Liverpool have recently bid farewell to Jurgen Klopp, and this might not be the only significant departure from Anfield this summer.

The club are currently at a critical juncture following Klopp’s exit and the introduction of a new recruitment team.

Several players are rumored to be considering moves away from Anfield this summer, with Luis Diaz‘s future being particularly uncertain.

David Lynch, speaking on his YouTube channel, has commented on Diaz’s situation, suggesting that the £37 million player might be sold and replaced by someone with a higher goal-scoring record.

Lynch shared what he knows about the winger.

“The one thing I would say on Diaz is that it’s not a clear-cut one. My understanding is that Liverpool are happy to keep him, but they believe his output could be slightly better if they can do something where they lose Diaz and replace him with someone who scores a few more goals, maybe that’s something they’d look into,” Lynch said.

“It’s a possibility, not one that I’d completely rule out in the way I would with Alisson and Nunez but not one you’d say would definitely depart this summer.

“I think he’s a really interesting story going into the summer for Liverpool. It’s one of those where it’s almost 50-50 at the moment,” Lynch said.

Selling Diaz may seem like an absurd notion given his outstanding performance this season.

However, Liverpool historically excelled with two goalscoring wingers, rather than a more creative player like Diaz.

Indeed, despite Diaz’s excellence, he hasn’t quite filled the role of a true Sadio Mane replacement because he doesn’t score as many goals.

Goals are the currency of football, and while Diaz is impressive, if Liverpool could replace him with a player who offers more scoring potential, it could be a beneficial move.
