Fotospor recently reported that Slot is keen to reunite with Orkun Kokcu and make the Turkish international his first signing at Liverpool.
During their time together at Feyenoord, the Benfica No.10 made 96 appearances under Slot, scoring 21 goals and providing 14 assists.
According to A Bola in Portugal, Benfica will not accept less than €45m (£38m) for Kokcu this summer.
In today’s market, that amount isn’t particularly high, so this news, if accurate, will likely be well-received by Michael Edwards at Anfield.
A Bola also mentioned that Kokcu and Slot have stayed in touch since the Turkish midfielder left Feyenoord for Benfica in June 2023.
