25-year-old Star Urged to Join Liverpool Instead of Rival Club This Summer

Robert Pires has urged PSG and France sensation Kylian Mbappe to consider a move to Liverpool over Real Madrid this summer.

Reports suggest Mbappe has already reached an agreement with Real Madrid to join them after the current season, informing PSG of his intentions to depart earlier in the year.

Since his arrival at PSG in 2017, the 25-year-old has enjoyed significant personal and team achievements, clinching five Ligue 1 titles and securing the position of the club’s leading goal scorer with an impressive tally of 244 goals.

Mbappe played a pivotal role in France’s World Cup triumph in 2018 and came close to guiding his nation to consecutive titles, despite suffering a defeat to Argentina in the 2022 final, where Mbappe netted a memorable hat-trick.

The impending transfer of the French forward is poised to see him don the colours of Real Madrid, a team currently leading La Liga by eight points and harbouring hopes of Champions League glory, with a forthcoming quarter-final clash against Manchester City.

In a candid revelation, Pires disclosed that he once stood on the brink of joining Real Madrid in his playing career. However, he opted to decline the offer in favour of joining Arsenal, the club where he played a pivotal role in securing two Premier League titles and two FA Cups.

“I’m sorry, Kylian, but you weren’t the first player to say no to Real Madrid,’ Pires told AS. ‘I don’t know what decision he will make in the end, but I turned Madrid down because I had two other options.

“I’m sure that if I didn’t have the opportunity of going to Arsenal or Juventus I would have gone to Real Madrid. That’s for sure.’

Robert Pires expressed his interest in seeing his fellow countryman join Liverpool, envisioning an exciting partnership with Anfield star Mohamed Salah.

“I would like to see him at Liverpool,’ the ex-France star added. ‘It’s a great family club, there’s a good structure, no pressure, the fans are level-headed.

“And I think a Salah-Mbappe partnership could be really explosive. I think he is capable of rejecting Real Madrid.”

Mbappe continues to shine brightly this season, both for his club and national team, showcasing his remarkable talent with 37 goals in 41 matches across various competitions.

With PSG’s dominant form, clinching another Ligue 1 title appears imminent, further solidifying their status as French football powerhouses.

Additionally, the club set their sights on a historic Champions League victory, eagerly anticipating a quarter-final showdown against Barcelona.
