Jurgen Klopp Perplexed by Unprecedented Injury as Key Player Star to Be Unavailable vs Man Utd

This weekend, Jurgen Klopp will face a challenge as one of his key players will be absent against Manchester United.

Expressing concern, Jurgen Klopp shared his surprise at Alexis Mac Allister’s injury sustained in Liverpool’s recent victory over Sheffield United. The midfielder endured a severe leg cut due to a robust tackle and, unfortunately, will miss the upcoming match against Manchester United while he recovers.

Mac Allister was absent from the recent comeback victory against Crystal Palace last Saturday. Furthermore, he didn’t accompany the Liverpool squad for their Europa League encounter against Union Saint-Gilloise.

During Wednesday’s press conference, Klopp delved into the details of Mac Allister’s injury, expressing that, at 56 years old, he has never witnessed anything quite like it.

“It’s a bit more tricky than we thought at the first moment,” said the Liverpool boss. “The other boy stepped on his knee and the stud went through pretty much the muscle on to the bone.

“Now we have to wait until the bone is healed and until Macca can deal with the pain, because it is pretty painful.

“Macca is actually a super tough guy, so we have probably to make sure just from an infection point of view nothing happens. That’s really important. I never had this injury for one of my players before but now we have it.

“I hope it will not take that long. I would like to say it’s day by day but that would look like he could maybe play the next game but he will not be ready for that as well. I hope the next three or four days he makes big steps and then we will see.”

Liverpool are set to grapple with a series of injuries as they prepare to face United this upcoming weekend. Key players such as Andy Robertson, Joel Matip, and Diogo Jota are expected to be sidelined.

Wataru Endo is poised to step in for Mac Allister against the Red Devils, who, in turn, will be without several first-team members due to injuries.

The hosts are strongly favoured to secure all three points, riding high on their impressive recent form. Leading the Premier League table, they enjoy a two-point cushion over second-placed Arsenal, having suffered only one defeat throughout the season.

On the other hand, United find themselves in a challenging position, having experienced defeats in more than half of their matches across all competitions.

Overcoming Liverpool this weekend appears to require a miracle for them. Notably, United has been unable to score at Anfield for five years and suffered a humiliating 7-0 defeat in the same fixture last season, marking one of the darkest moments in the club’s history.
