FC Barcelona has reportedly decided on Marcus Rashford’s future as his loan spell from Manchester United nears its conclusion.
The England international moved to Spain last summer and has delivered a series of impressive performances under head coach Hansi Flick. With his temporary deal expiring on June 30, the Catalan club has been evaluating whether to activate the option to sign him permanently.

Not all voices within Barcelona are fully aligned on the matter. Presidential candidate Xavier Vilajoana has suggested that the club should prioritise internal academy talent before committing significant funds to external signings.
Vilajoana pointed to winger Jan Virgili, currently playing for Mallorca, as an example of a player who could be considered before finalising Rashford’s clause. However, he acknowledged that major sporting decisions are reached collectively rather than unilaterally by the club president.
Ultimately, he stated that if signing Rashford is deemed the best sporting option, the necessary resources would be made available.

Sporting director Deco has publicly praised Rashford’s commitment and professionalism. He highlighted the player’s experience at the highest level and referenced his previous spell at Aston Villa as evidence of his adaptability.
Deco also emphasised that Rashford made financial sacrifices to facilitate the move to Barcelona, describing that willingness as a clear demonstration of his desire to represent the club.
