Jota’s passing comes only weeks after he celebrated his wedding.

He tied the knot with Rute Cardoso last month, following a long-term relationship that began in 2012.

The video of their wedding is accompanied with the caption: “A day we will never forget.”

Jota made the move to Liverpool from Wolves during the summer of 2020.

During his time with the Reds, he netted 65 goals in 182 appearances and played a key role in their Premier League title triumph last season.

On the international stage, the Portuguese forward also lifted the FA Cup and EFL Cup with Liverpool, and secured two Nations League titles with his national side.
