Local Authorities Release Statement on Diogo Jota Car Crash as Liverpool Player D!es Alongside Brother

Local authorities in Spain have issued an official statement following reports that Liverpool forward Diogo Jota was killed in a tragic car accident.

On Thursday morning, multiple outlets in Spain and Portugal reported the heartbreaking news that Jota and his brother had lost their lives in a collision in Spain’s Zamora province.

The 28-year-old was reportedly involved in a fatal crash that took place at around 1:30 a.m. in the northwestern region.

Emergency responders, including the Traffic Civil Guard, Fire Brigade, Medical Emergency Unit (UME), and primary care staff from Mombuey Health Centre, quickly arrived at the scene and confirmed the deaths of two individuals.

The Zamora Provincial Council later released a statement confirming the preliminary details of the incident.

Their statement read: “Two young people die in an accident on the A-52 (Palacios de Sanabria).

“The Rionegro del Puente Fire Station (Northern Zone of the @DiputacionZA Consortium) responded.

“The vehicle caught fire, and the flames spread to the vegetation.

“They were 28 and 26 years old. RIP.”
