Expert: Andy Robertson Makes Liverpool Transfer Decision – ‘From What I Hear…’

Andy Robertson is understood to favour a switch to Atletico Madrid over remaining in the Premier League, as he moves closer to a Liverpool exit.
This is according to former Manchester United and Blackburn head scout Mick Brown, who, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, revealed the 31-year-old is keen to continue playing regularly at a high level.
Liverpool are close to finalising a deal for Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez, and once that move is completed, it is expected to pave the way for Robertson’s departure.
Brown previously informed Football Insider that Liverpool are willing to match Bournemouth’s valuation of Kerkez, with negotiations intensifying in recent weeks.
On 17 June, Football Insider reported that Liverpool are open to selling Robertson, despite previously entering discussions over a potential contract renewal.
Although several Premier League sides have shown interest in the Scotland defender, he is believed to be leaning towards a move abroad, with his bond with the Anfield faithful influencing his desire to avoid joining a domestic rival.
Andy Robertson to Leave Liverpool as Milos Kerkez Deal Lined Up
Back in December, Brown told Football Insider that Liverpool had identified Milos Kerkez as a potential successor to Robertson, with plans in place to part ways with their long-serving left-back this summer.
The experienced former scout, who spent over ten years working in elite player recruitment at Manchester United during their most successful era, suggested that a move to Atletico Madrid currently appears to be the most likely outcome for the Scotland international.
“Well they’ve been looking to replace Robertson,” Brown told Football Inside.
“I think Kerkez is a top-class option, he’ll go to Liverpool and start every week.
“So that opens the door for Robertson to leave and there’s going to be a fair bit of interest, because a few Premier League clubs had considered a move.
“He’s very much now a Liverpool player in that he’s really bought into the club.
“He’s got that connection with the fans and the club, and I can’t see him wanting to go and play for another Premier League side at this stage.
“From what I hear, he wants to make that move to Atletico Madrid.
“There’s interest there and Liverpool are willing to let him go, so it’s one to watch.”
