League 1 Star Opens Door for Liverpool Transfer as Premier League Club Plot Audacious Bid

Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola has seemingly hinted at a potential move to Liverpool during the current transfer window, sparking speculation over a surprise switch.

The young France international recently added a Champions League winners’ medal to his collection, playing a vital role in helping his club navigate through the knockout stages.

Barcola, who is 22 years old, delivered an eye-catching performance over two legs against Liverpool, as PSG edged out the Premier League champions on penalties in the round of 16.

Domestically, the forward had an outstanding season in Ligue 1, netting 14 goals and supplying 10 assists as PSG wrapped up the title with six matches left to play.

Liverpool, on the other hand, are undergoing a transformative summer following their Premier League triumph, with Arne Slot’s side nearing a major deal for Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz.

According to BBC Sport, the Merseyside club are on the verge of completing a transfer for Wirtz that could rise to £114 million with add-ons — a deal that would set a new British record.

The Reds have already triggered the £30 million release clause in Jeremie Frimpong’s contract, another Leverkusen player, and are currently negotiating a move for Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez.

Now, Barcola has emerged as a possible high-profile target, with The Sun reporting that Liverpool have placed him on their transfer shortlist.

With Liverpool aiming to bring in a new centre forward, Barcola’s ability to operate both through the middle and on the right flank — particularly as cover for Mohamed Salah — makes him an appealing option.

Back in April, L’Équipe noted that Barcola had been reluctant to agree to a contract extension with PSG, preferring to wait and see whether the club would strengthen their attacking options during the off-season.

Although he was named on the bench for the second leg of the Champions League final against Inter Milan, Barcola was introduced by Luis Enrique as the match progressed, highlighting his role within the squad.

However, PSG are reportedly unwilling to entertain offers for the attacker. As per Foot Mercato, the club view him as a core part of Enrique’s long-term vision and have labelled him “non-transferable.”

Despite this stance, it is understood that Barcola is open to remaining in Paris to continue his growth — though a substantial offer from Liverpool may tempt him to reconsider his position.
