Alvarez scored 20 goals in just 67 Premier League appearances for Manchester City, a notable achievement considering he spent much of that time as understudy to Erling Haaland. His overall tally of 36 goals in 103 matches across all competitions highlights an even more impressive return.
He has just completed his most prolific season to date in the Spanish capital, netting 29 goals in 54 appearances for Atletico. Having been part of Manchester City’s treble-winning squad and Argentina’s World Cup triumph, he has proven his ability to perform at the highest level and win major honours.
