‘If a Transfer Happens’ – 21-goal Striker Linked With Liverpool Drops Hint Over His Future

A striker linked with a summer move to Liverpool has spoken about his future.
Liverpool have been associated with a number of centre-forwards in recent months. Even after securing the Premier League title with relative ease, the striker position remained a concern for the Reds.
Darwin Nunez struggled to cement his place in the starting eleven, managing only eight league starts. Diogo Jota was once again plagued by injuries and found it difficult to regain his form. As a result, Luis Diaz was often deployed as a makeshift striker, helping Arne Slot lead Liverpool to their 20th English championship.
With these challenges, it is believed that strengthening the striker role will be a key focus for Liverpool this summer. Alexander Isak had been on their radar, especially after scoring 23 Premier League goals for Newcastle United.
However, Newcastle’s Champions League qualification makes it unlikely that Isak will leave St James’ Park, and reports suggest his valuation exceeds £120 million.
Another name Liverpool have reportedly been tracking is Benjamin Sesko of Red Bull Leipzig. The 21-year-old forward netted 21 goals across all competitions despite Leipzig enduring a difficult season, finishing seventh in the Bundesliga. Rumours from Germany indicate that Die Roten Bullen could be willing to part with Sesko, who has a reported release clause of £62 million.
Leipzig have embarked on a post-season tour of Brazil to play against Santos, and Sesko has spoken about what might be next for him. In an interview with German broadcaster Sport1, the Slovenia international shared his thoughts: “The club has given me a lot and continues to give me a lot every day. It’s a great club to develop at.”
Sesko continued that he wishes to “play for a club that suits me, that brings out the best in me. That’s the most important thing for me.” He added: ‘I’m currently a player for RB Leipzig, so I’m taking it day by day. If a transfer happens, and if it doesn’t, then it doesn’t.”

Will Liverpool Sign Benjamin Sesko?
A striker is already considered a high-priority addition for Liverpool as they prepared to defend the Premier League title. However, the Reds’ pursuit of Florian Wirtz appears to have altered those plans.
Wirtz, an attacking midfielder, plays in a position where Liverpool were not initially expected to invest, given their existing options. Bayer Leverkusen are said to value Wirtz, regarded as one of Europe’s most exciting young talents, at around £126 million. Nevertheless, the Reds are hopeful of negotiating a lower fee.
Liverpool are close to completing a deal for Jeremie Frimpong from Leverkusen, triggering his £30 million release clause. Arne Slot’s side are also exploring options for a new left-back, with AFC Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez on their radar.
The potential sale of Darwin Nunez, who has attracted interest from the Saudi Pro League, alongside other squad players such as Caoimhin Kelleher and Harvey Elliott, could help raise further funds for Liverpool’s transfer plans.
