Report: Liverpool Star Nears Anfield Exit After Reaching Agreement With New Club

Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez has reportedly reached a verbal agreement to move to Atletico Madrid this summer, as per sources in Spain.
The Uruguayan international has found it difficult to secure regular appearances under Arne Slot this season, having been named in the starting eleven only eight times in the Premier League.
Liverpool are believed to be willing to sell Nunez during the upcoming summer transfer window. However, the club may face challenges in recovering the £64 million they initially paid for the 25-year-old.
The transfer deal that brought Nunez to Liverpool from Benfica in 2022 could eventually rise to £85 million, including potential add-ons.
Cadena SER reports that Atletico have already held discussions with Nunez, and the Liverpool striker has reportedly expressed a strong desire to join Diego Simeone’s squad this summer.
The report further claims that all terms have been settled with the player, leaving Atletico with the final task of agreeing on a transfer fee with Liverpool.

Atletico are not the sole club interested in Nunez, as Napoli have also expressed their interest in the striker. Additionally, the Uruguayan forward has an opportunity to move to the Saudi Pro League.
Liverpool, on the other hand, are close to finalising their first signing of the summer, with Jeremie Frimpong having completed his medical on Monday.
The 24-year-old, who has a €35 million (£29.5 million) release clause in his Bayer Leverkusen contract, is Liverpool’s top target to succeed Trent Alexander-Arnold.
The Premier League champions are also engaged in discussions to bring in Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez.
