Liverpool Scouts Monitoring Talents Across Six Clubs as Arne Slot Gears Up for Busy Transfer Window

Liverpool are expected to be busy during the 2025 summer transfer window, with players from clubs in Germany, England, Spain, the Netherlands, and Argentina all being monitored.
Liverpool are monitoring players at RB Leipzig, Eintracht Frankfurt, Bournemouth, Ajax, Real Betis, and River Plate as they prepare to strengthen their squad during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Since Arne Slot’s arrival at the club last year, Liverpool have signed only one outfield player, but expectations are that at least two signings will be made this summer, with the possibility of further additions.
The club’s main focus is to secure a new forward and a left-back, as upgrades are being considered for Darwin Nunez and Andy Robertson. A centre-back and a right-back are also on the radar. Liverpool anticipate strong interest in Uruguayan striker Nunez, particularly after rejecting offers from Saudi Arabian clubs in January.
Attention is also being paid to the left-back position, with a long-term replacement for Robertson seen as a key objective. Robertson turned 31 in March, while Kostas Tsimikas, who will also be in his 30s next season, has not convinced the club he can serve as a dependable regular starter.
Liverpool are understood to admire several players from Bournemouth, including Milos Kerkez as a potential left-back signing, Dean Huijsen as a centre-back target, and Antoine Semenyo as an option in attack.
While Kerkez and Huijsen have recently been linked with a move to Anfield, Chelsea are reportedly leading the race for the latter. Semenyo is primarily a winger, and with Slot’s side already well equipped in wide positions, his signing could be less of a priority.
According to the Mail, scouts from the club attended RB Leipzig’s Bundesliga fixture against Bayern Munich on Saturday, with striker Benjamin Sesko and attacking midfielder Xavi Simons both being monitored.
Sesko found the net for his 21st goal of the campaign in all competitions during Leipzig’s 3-3 draw, a result that postponed Bayern’s title celebrations. He is being looked at as a potential successor to Nunez.
Simons has featured in 31 matches across all competitions for Leipzig, scoring 10 goals and assisting eight more. He has played in both attacking midfield and on the left wing, though Liverpool already have solid options on that side, with Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo performing well this season.
Eintracht Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike is another forward on the shortlist, while young Ajax defender Jorrel Hato is also being considered. The Mail further reports that the club has been scouting talents at Real Betis and River Plate in recent weeks.
