However, Christian Falk reports that Sane is now inclined to stay at Bayern Munich and is even willing to accept a significant pay cut to finalise a new deal with the club.

Although no agreement has been reached yet, Liverpool still have time to persuade Sane to reconsider his decision. Falk’s update came before Liverpool were crowned Premier League champions, which could provide a crucial advantage in negotiations.

By signing Sane on a free transfer, Liverpool would have the financial flexibility to potentially bypass Bayern’s proposed wage cut offer, making the prospect of a Premier League title defence even more appealing.

Sane is no stranger to competing for England’s top title. The 29-year-old won the Premier League twice with Manchester City and was widely regarded as one of the world’s best wingers, a distinction that Pep Guardiola himself acknowledged in 2019.

“Playing in the middle he can do it, but I think he’s better out wide. I’m not saying he can’t [play in middle] but at the moment we have better players to do that job. But Leroy is best playing in the world out wide. I’d prefer to use him where he is strongest, he’s an incredible player.”

Sane’s current tally of 12 goals and five assists is respectable, but it falls short of what he is truly capable of. His playing time this season has been inconsistent, which may have affected his overall contribution.

The German forward has proven himself in the Premier League at the highest level, playing under a legendary manager alongside world-class talent. His ability to play on either wing means he could seamlessly slot into the left side, creating opportunities and complementing Salah’s play.
