Andy Robertson Picks Out Three Teammates as ‘Unsung Heroes’ of Liverpool’s Title Win Who Could All Leave This Summer

Liverpool players are revelling in the spotlight across England on Monday following their latest Premier League triumph.

The Reds dismantled Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday, securing their second league crown in six years.

Their victory over Spurs ignited jubilant scenes at Anfield, where Liverpool supporters finally had the chance to celebrate with their team in a way they were denied back in 2020.

From Mohamed Salah to Wataru Endo, each member of the Liverpool squad received rapturous applause from all corners of the ground as fans showed their gratitude for a memorable season.

While Salah has been the standout star, Liverpool’s march to a 20th league title has truly been a collective achievement.

Asked to highlight some of Liverpool’s ‘unsung heroes’, Andy Robertson chose to shine a light on three players who have seen less action but played vital roles.

Everyone recognises the main figures behind Liverpool’s title triumph, from Salah and Virgil van Dijk to Ryan Gravenberch and Alexis Mac Allister. Several players have truly risen to the occasion.

However, speaking to Stadium Astro after full-time on Sunday, Robertson also highlighted that players like Endo, Harvey Elliott and Jarell Quansah were equally deserving of being called champions.

“I think all the people in the background have been working tirelessly, the physios, the masseurs, the doctors, the kitchen staff,” said the Scotland captain.

“But if you have to focus on players then it’s the lads that train so hard week in week out without maybe getting the rewards at the weekend.

“We’ve got a few players like that that probably would have wanted to play more this season that have been frustrated at times and have wanted a bit more game time.

“But without the fact that they push the lads that start most of the games we wouldn’t be here. You look at Wataru coming on, Harvey coming on, Jarell, all these lads, they’re always ready to contribute to the team and you can’t take that for granted.

“If you don’t have a good squad with a good attitude you’ll never win anything,” Robertson continues. “Credit to those lads because I know it’s been difficult for them but they’ve managed to stay with us and this win’s as much for them as the likes of Virgil who haven’t missed a game all season. It’s a real collective performance and we’ve all contributed this season and that’s why we’ll all party together.”

Liverpool Unsung Heroes Could All Leave

Robertson is right to highlight these three players as individuals who may feel disheartened by their limited involvement on the pitch this season.

Collectively, Endo, Elliott, and Quansah have only managed two Premier League starts between them this year – both of which came from Quansah.

Naturally, this has sparked talk that all three could be on the move. Elliott is said to be attracting interest from Bournemouth, while Newcastle have reportedly shown an interest in Quansah.

Meanwhile, Endo has been the subject of rumours linking him with a potential return to the Bundesliga, as he faces a pivotal summer in his Liverpool career.

As Robertson points out, however, Liverpool must be careful when considering departures from their squad. Although these players may not currently impact the starting eleven significantly, the absence of squad depth has often been a major factor in the club’s failure to secure additional Premier League titles.
