Liverpool ‘in Discussions’ with Alexander Isak Alternative Ahead of Summer Transfer Battle

A recent update has surfaced concerning Eintracht Frankfurt forward Hugo Ekitike, who has caught the attention of several top European clubs, including Liverpool, as the summer transfer window approaches.
Reports indicate that Liverpool have already initiated discussions with the representatives of the highly-rated attacker Hugo Ekitike, currently playing for Eintracht Frankfurt.
At just 22, the French youth international has established himself as one of the most exciting attacking prospects in Europe, with multiple elite clubs expected to compete for his signature during the upcoming window.
Liverpool’s interest in reinforcing their frontline is said to be linked to the uncertain futures of current attackers Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota, and Luis Diaz.
Although Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak has often been viewed as the prime candidate among fans and media alike, securing his services appears challenging due to the substantial fee required to lure him away from St James’ Park.
As a result, it is not unexpected that other potential targets are being explored. According to journalist Ben Bocsak via Anfield Watch, Liverpool have already held initial discussions with Ekitike’s representatives in London last week.

The Frenchman is reportedly among the players being considered as a possible replacement should Nunez leave Anfield at the conclusion of the season.
The discussions were described as preliminary, with Liverpool using the meeting as an opportunity to outline their vision and present their future plans to the player’s camp.
However, the Merseyside club is not alone in their pursuit, as both Arsenal and Manchester United are also believed to have held talks with Ekitike’s entourage.
The conversations were reportedly positive, and all three Premier League giants are expected to compete for the striker’s signature once the window officially opens.
That said, it’s important to note that both Arsenal and Manchester United are also being linked with another highly sought-after forward, Viktor Gyokeres of Sporting CP.
Ekitike began his professional journey in France with Stade de Reims and had a stint at Paris Saint-Germain before making a permanent move to Frankfurt last summer.
This season, the talented forward has impressed with 19 goals and eight assists in 39 appearances across all competitions for the Bundesliga side.
He remains under contract with Frankfurt until the summer of 2029, and it is believed that a fee in the region of £60 million would be required to secure his services in the upcoming transfer window.
