Alexander Isak’s Next Club Decided with Liverpool and Premier League Rivals Interested

Newcastle forward Alexander Isak may be on the verge of a transfer away from St James’ Park this year.

The Swedish striker has been advised to reject potential moves to Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea in favour of a high-profile switch to Manchester United. Isak has been in outstanding form for the Magpies this season, netting 17 goals in 22 Premier League appearances.

Earlier in the campaign, Isak found the back of the net in eight consecutive top-flight matches, including a hat-trick in a dominant 4-0 victory over Ipswich.

Currently, he stands as the Premier League’s third-highest scorer, trailing only Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Manchester City’s Erling Haaland since the start of the season.

Despite attracting interest from several clubs during the winter transfer window, Isak has remained at Newcastle for now.

However, the striker might be enticed by a lucrative move away from the club when the season concludes, even though he still has three years left on his contract.

Readers of Newsnow Liverpool have expressed their views on where the 25-year-old should move if he departs Newcastle.

In a recent poll, 42 per cent of respondents suggested he should join Liverpool, while 29 per cent favoured a switch to Manchester United.

Arsenal was the third most popular choice, receiving 22 per cent of the votes, whereas only seven per cent of readers believed Chelsea would be the right destination for the forward.

Manchester United are in dire need of a reliable goalscorer, with Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee both struggling for consistency since their arrivals at Old Trafford.

Isak could be the key to revitalising Ruben Amorim’s side and securing a return to the top four, as United currently sit 13th in the Premier League following a disappointing 2-0 home defeat to Crystal Palace on Sunday.

Newcastle legend Alan Shearer recently interviewed Isak for the BBC Sport website at the end of last week.
