‘So Important’: Arne Slot Names the Liverpool Player Who is Just as Crucial as Mo Salah After Bournemouth Win

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah may have been the standout performer in their victory over Bournemouth, but Arne Slot highlighted another crucial Reds player in his post-match remarks.
Slot watched as Salah netted twice—first from the penalty spot and then with a superb finish to seal the win—maintaining Liverpool’s impressive form this season.
Given Bournemouth’s strong run, the trip to the South Coast was expected to be a real test for Liverpool.
However, Salah once again delivered when it mattered, and Liverpool now appear to be a formidable force in the title race.
That said, football is not a one-man show, and Liverpool boast several other top-class players, including goalkeeper Alisson Becker, whom Slot singled out for praise.

Addressing the media after the match, Slot discussed his team’s performance. While much of the attention was on Salah, he was also asked about Alisson, who delivered another impressive display.

According to Slot, the Brazilian goalkeeper is among the most important players in the squad.
“He does incredibly well. He has been so important for so many years, it is for others to judge who is the best in the world and the league,” Slot said of his stopper.
Although the Liverpool manager doesn’t explicitly say it here, he has previously spoken about how highly he rates his goalkeeper.
“Yeah maybe his teammates wanted to be sure he was really fit and to give him a lot of work,” Slot said of Alisson after a Champions League tie this season.
“No, of course, that’s not the idea, but he showed today and I don’t think anybody needed him to show it today because I think everyone knows he’s the best goalkeeper in the world.
“He showed today that he definitely is this because he was so important for us with so many saves.”
Liverpool splashed out huge money on Alisson when they signed him but over the years, he has been more than worth it.
