“At This Moment” – Darwin Nunez in “Happy” Admission as Liverpool Declaration Made

Darwin Nunez shared his thoughts after contributing a goal in Liverpool’s recent Premier League victory against Aston Villa on Saturday evening.

The forward expressed joy at his return to Liverpool’s starting eleven, which he marked with a goal, but stressed that Arne Slot’s team will remain grounded despite their impressive early-season form.

Nunez found the net for his third goal of the season, helping the Reds secure a 2-0 win at home against Aston Villa, solidifying their Premier League position.

Nunez was previously benched for Liverpool’s Champions League match against Bayer Leverkusen midweek. However, he has started in the last four Premier League games, filling in as Diogo Jota recovers from injury.

And the forward said: “At this moment, I feel happy to have minutes, happy to score another goal for Liverpool.

“I think we did a good job defensively, and attacking I think we were good too. I feel happy, as I said – happy for the team that we have been doing things well and that is showing when we play.

“We have to continue working, with our feet on the ground. We haven’t won anything yet and there’s a lot left to do.”

Nunez has joined the Uruguay national team for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers, which include a home match against Luis Diaz’s Colombia and an away game in Brazil.

Liverpool enters the international break holding a five-point lead at the top of the Premier League standings. They also sit atop their Champions League group and have advanced to the League Cup quarter-finals.

However, Nunez and his Liverpool teammates remain focused, steering clear of any outside speculation about what they might achieve this season.

“As I always say, I’m focused here on Liverpool, we don’t look outwards,” he said. “Hopefully at the end of the season (we can reach) the goal and we can celebrate it with the people, so that they are the ones who have to celebrate with us the most.”
